What Manchester United Can Expect From Javier Hernandez

As has now been fairly well documented, Manchester United have announced the signing of 21-year old Mexican starlet Javier Hernandez from Chivas de Guadalajara for an undisclosed fee, subject to a work permit.

It's also been reported that personal terms have been agreed with the player and Hernandez passed his medical in Manchester this week.

 

And as part of the deal, United will apparently play in the opening match of Chivas' new 45,000-capacity stadium in Guadalajara ahead of the coming season.

Javier Hernandez has an impressive goalscoring record for his club, currently being the joint-third top goalscorer in the Mexican top-flight with 11 goals to his name this season.

But it gets better on the international stage, as little Hernandez has scored four goals in four games for the Mexico national team, and as made two assists.

And for Manchester United, similar things could well be happening once 'El Chicharito' (Little Pea) adjusts to the style of the English Premier League.

With good aerial prowess, genius anticipation, and quick acceleration, Javier Hernandez is a real threat with both feet to any defence, and could well shine in England if given the right chance.

Whilst he can't dribble with the ball like a Fernando Torres or a Cristiano Ronaldo can, and whilst he isn't the most creative of players when making forward runs, he is an excellent finisher of the ball and shows great movement for such a young player.

He also links very well with his midfield, with experienced teammate Omar Bravo playing "Kaka to his Ronaldo," according to various media sources.

All that combined with the very decent work-rate Hernandez appears to display, and Manchester United could well have signed the next big superstar in world football.

It may only be early days, but having watched Javier 'El Chicharito' Hernandez play for his club and country, it could definitely be said this kid might well be the heir to Mexico's all-time great, Hugo Sanchez.
