2010 World Cup Final: Paul the Octopus Predicts Spain as World Champions

July 9th, 2010 by Daniel Gooch Leave a reply »

Paul the famous psychic octopus has predicted that Spain will win the final of the 2010 World Cup.

If Paul predicts it, it will probably be right.

So far at this World Cup he has gotten 100 percent of his predictions right; from Germany's defeat by Serbia, to Spain beating them in the semifinal.

I can't remember the last time there was such an Internet sensation related to the World Cup.

He is such a huge star, even the Spanish Prime Minister joked about giving the octopus state protection.

He previously predicted the Euro 2008 results and got five out of six right.

So far at the 2010 World Cup he has gone a step further and got seven out of seven correct.

Since the semifinal, where he correctly predicted Spain would beat Germany, football blogs, twitter, and the news sites have been eagerly awaiting who Paul says will win the last game.

He has received death threats, in the form of recipes, from the Germans and Argentinians after he predicted that their teams would be beaten.

Paul has been the best friend to many gamblers, as those that believe in his gift have been putting money on the teams the octopus predicts.

There will be three things that we will remember from the 2010 World Cup in South Africa: the vuvuzela, the Jabulani and PAUL THE PSYCHIC OCTOPUS.
